Tumwater Teens Holiday Tea and Fashion Show

Black Hills High School Teens welcome guests to tea (left to right):
Kyle VanderVelde, Katie Repine, Lindsey Meyer,
Kaitlyn VanderVelde, Lindsay Swick, Drew David, Mike Morrison

Seven Black Hills High School students are committed to helping the community of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, rebuild after being flooded during Hurricane Katrina. They will be going to Chalmette, Louisiana, over spring break to assist the non-profit St. Bernard Project in rebuilding a home.

With the assistance of four Evergreen State College students (Betsy Hagen, Jackie Ferrado, Caitlin Meyer, and Cindy Meyer), they hosted the holiday tea/fashion show as a community outreach event and fundraiser to inform the public about the continued need for assistance in the New Orleans area. They raised $1600 toward their travel expenses!
