The Tumwater Teens are students at Black Hills High School. They are (left to right): Erin Schneider, Caleb Montelongo, Trevor Smith, Lindsay Swick, Katie Repine, Tori Stamp, Mariah Kerrihard, Lindsey Meyer, and Tanner JohnsonThe Tumwater Teens left yesterday for New Orleans! Tomorrow we start our work rebuilding a home destroyed when the levees failed after Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. St. Bernard Project has rebuilt over 350 homes to date! The Teens have been busy since November getting ready for this trip. First, they raised about $800 for St. Bernard Project in their Home for the Holidays campaign. Then they started putting on garage sales, and selling candy bars, and recruiting local sponsors to help pay for their trip. They were able to fundraise for approximately $350 of the $700 cost for the trip.
Tumwater Teens want to give a special thanks to their local business sponsors:
