The St. Bernard Project Scoop

New Orleans still needs our help post-Katrina! This is a blog about ongoing efforts in Olympia, Washington to assist St. Bernard Project - an effective grassroots non-profit hard at work rebuilding the homes and lives of the residents of the greater New Orleans area. Our goal is to help St. Bernard Project by raising community awareness about the continued need for assistance, funds, and volunteers.

Local Efforts To Date - Olympia, Washington

- Two volunteer rebuilding trips by high school students (The Tumwater Teens) during spring break in 2009 and 2010.

- Evergreen State College students' efforts that resulted in five volunteer work trips to the area, various outreach events, and an Olympia fundraiser that raised $12,000 for St. Bernard Project.

- Efforts by The Meyer Family to promote community awareness, raise funds, and coordinate volunteer trips to assist St. Bernard Project in their rebuilding efforts. All combined, Cindy, Caitlin, Lindsey, and Adam Meyer have made 14 volunteer trips on behalf of St. Bernard Project.
